this week i was exposed to sumthing really new to me....COMMUNITY WORK...
ntah camne ntah aku bole involve dalam benda2 ni...this project was called Local Agenda 21 KL....projek ni objektif dia utk mendedahkan middle n low income earner to ICT....rupa2nya kt KL ni ramai lagi org yg buta IT n tak pernah pakai internet....so DBKL n other rakan kongsi buat satu projek untuk dedahkan diorang ni dgn ICT....2 hari jugakla aku bertapa dalam hotel tu bersama2 dgn org2 lain yg mostly pengerusi persatuan n sponsor......hmm actually im on behalf of my persatuan jugak....macam2 yg kitorang discuss and at the end of the session kena serahkan pelan tindakan dekat ketua pengarah DBKL....
.hmm actually memang bagus jugak join community work ni sbb terbukak sikit mind kita dekat benda2 lain yg kita tak biase buat....so it will be a tough job for us to implement the project because it must be launched by January 2011.....aku tengah pikir ni.....camne la nk carik fund....sbb benda2 alah ICT ni mesti byk sgt pakai duit....in that group aku yg paling muda kt situ tapi aku memang salute dgn warga2 emas kt situ sbb diorang punye idea memang power.....n they respect your ideas as well.....aku nak citer sikit ape benda yg kitorang nk buat dengan projek ni.....basically ada 3 grp sasaran kitorang....student, ibu tunggal/peniaga kecil dan warga emas........sponsor2 kitorang (mainly internet provider, hardware and software company) will provide laptop/computer beserta software2 yg sepatutnya (utk student diorang pakai e-book n score A tak silap aku) utk they all belajar secara online....utk warga2 emas.....diorang ni nk didedahkan dgn e-Al Quran or kelas fardhu ain....n utk ibu2 tunggal or peniaga diorang bole pki utk e-dagang or online business.....actually benda2 ni bukannye benda baru cuma ramai lagi org yg belum exposed pada benda2 ni....
ape2 pon aku cuma harap projek ni bole jalan dgn jayanya n low income earner pon bole dapat benefit dari projek ni.......ye la...dekat tempat aku byk family daripada middle n low income class n yg plg sedihnye.....ramai org melayu yg tercicir......hopefully lepas projek ni launched, diorang akan take advantage n benefit daripada projek ni.....n hopefully melayu2 kita tak terus layu.....kita ni dh jauh jugak ketinggalan...kalau tak sedar jugak tak tau la nk cakap ape lagi....

Good to know that you are involved in this working group, tak kira le walaupun 'ter' accident. Kudos to your dad.
Memang patut golongan-golongan sasar ini diberi peluang utuk menikmati teknologi yg terkini.
The student shall be the most critical group. Opportunity (where and how) and content (aplikasi) bagi mereka is critical. It has to start early sbb bagi yg mampu, exposure is given as early as primary school. This group must not be deprived for they will loose out and lag behind.
Information is king, bukan saja dari segi ICT tapi juga dari sumber2 yang lain. A community library of sort will be interesting - books, majalah and ICT hardware + internet. Apa2 pon maintenance/service kena tip top or we just die standing.
Anyway, it is important to create a mentality shift of the people to embrace ICT. Issues like camne nak attract them to try it out. And to keep them interested in it. That is besides the hardware and sofware issue which i think is equally important.
Keep up the good work and may good ideas flows into the project.

thanx raf for the support.....memang the hardest part is to change their mentality....diorang ni sumtimes tak berani nk mencuba sebab they feel that they are not part of it....mmg its a tough job n volunteer work but i really hope kerja2 volunteer ni dapat launched dgn jayanya
go c's n to my Abah to!! Anjakan paradigma is not as easy as it seems.. xpecially if we're on a comfy spot already.. (remind myself as well.. hehe)... Majulah IT untuk negara!!
